The Bothriolepis is a frigid fish found in Kerikil River. It is a medium-sized fish with a mottled body and distinct "helmet" covering its head. As other monster fish, it is extremely rare and very valuable to catch.

Techniques[]
Bothriolepis is found at the marshy part of Kerikil Calm Stream where you can see a swan, approximately 80+ ft. far. For bait, use Rainbow Bait. Sky Blue Glow Swimming Lure and White Spinner also work. Lures tend to work quicker compared to rainbow bait, but with any bait/lure, this fish will take several attempts to capture.
Patience is the key, as other fish in the are such Magois and Fat Minnows might hit the bait first (Japanese Salmon if using lure). When finally hooked, Bothriolepis fights like a Catfish, but not as heavy and definitely not leaping around like a Magoi .
Unlike other monster fish, Bothriolepis occasionally can be seen jumping out of water. However, this is only apparent if you are zooming in when fishing using a bait.
Trivia[]
- Bothriolepis, Dunkleosteus, and Rolfosteus canningensis are placoderms, a class of extinct fish that posses a "plate-armor" on their head. However, Bothriolepis is an antiarch placoderm that was a bottom-feeder, while the other two are predatory arthrodiras.
- Although Pteraspis also posses a "helmet", it is not a placoderm. It is belong to the Pteraspidomorphs, a group of armored jawless fish.
